Placement Testing

Placement testing will help determine the student’s readiness for the grade level and ability to meet the academic expectations of the program. This placement testing is required for 3rd – 12th grade students; a readiness assessment test will be administered for all students applying for K5-2nd grades. Current standardized test scores (Stanford Achievement, TerraNova, or Iowa Basic tests results less than one year old) may be submitted in lieu of WPA’s placement testing. Admissions personnel will schedule a testing time upon receipt of the completed application and fee. WPA utilizes a standardized test in language arts, in-house math, in addition to requiring a pre-determined, grade-level appropriate written essay.

The placement testing fee of $50.00 or readiness assessment fee of $25.00 is due at the time of student testing.

Placement testing is scheduled by appointment only and lasts approximately 2 hours (the tests are not timed). Materials needed during the test include two #2 sharpened pencils, an eraser, and a ruler without calculations.

Readiness assessments (K5-2nd) are conducted one-on-one with a WPA testing proctor.

If you have already attended an information meeting and are interested in enrolling at Waxahachie Preparatory Academy, please e-mail admissions to schedule your student's placement test session.
